The standard EN 15251 (2007) considers thermal criteria for both winter and summer for the classification of the indoor thermal quality. Also, at the same time, indoor air quality/ventilation, lighting, and acoustic criteria may be taken into account.

Both ISO 7730 (2005) and EN 15251 (2007) introduce a generic category of the indoor thermal quality in order to take into account both overall thermal comfort and local thermal discomfort.
